Recently was the Department retreat of my new (relatively, I have already been there six months, time fly…) institution. As a short summary, I am currently a Postdoctoral Associate in the Samuel Lab within the Baylor College of Medicine. The Samuel Lab belongs to the Molecular Virology and Microbiology (MVM) department and each year they organize a one day retreat at the Houston Zoo. This day is full of talk from both Ph.D. student and Postdoc research as well as poster presentations. The Houston Zoo is good fun and has quite a decent hosting capacity for a little crowd.
This is for the short story. With the retreat comes a small abstract book of every oral and poster presentation. They have the very nice idea that each year a small contest is organized for someone to feature an illustration or a science picture on the cover. And for my first time at the MVM retreat I did won the cover illustration. Picture below !!
I recognize some of those bugs! That’s a great illustration, Adrien!
Thank you Brandon!
My little collection of bacteria vector is growing and getting useful 😀
